One of my favorite ways to put an outfit together is dressing all in the same tone. Tonal dressing has been my go to way to pull off an outfit since I saw this picture of Meghan Markle a few years ago. I was reminded how much I love it after seeing Michelle Obama at the inauguration last month. I even tried recreating Markle’s look at Matt’s company Christmas party that year. She is definitely a style icon for me with her effortless look and don’t even get me started on her go-to messy bun. I love this idea because it always looks timeless in my opinion. It’s easy to…

The Friday Five, Issue 5
Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving. This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between! What I am currently loving: Fairy Tales Hair Care Products I had been struggling for about a year with the girls’ hair. It was very dry and almost brittle. Lillian’s hair is fine and wavy, Stella’s is thick and straight and nothing I was using seemed to do the trick for either of them. I wanted to stick with something nontoxic and of course tear free, since they…

The Big Game
We love football in this house, especially the NFL. While Matt is a hardcore Cowboys fan, I am diehard Saints fan, we will watch no matter who is playing. So when the beginning of February rolls around, we are always pumped to watch the big game. Before having kids, I loved hosting a party for the game, but with as young as the girls are, hosting a party, particularly one in which I would have to get the girls down for bed in the middle of, we’ve opted to just watch the game the two of us over the past few years. Since Lillian and Stella are a little older…

The Friday Five, Issue 4
Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving. This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between! What I am currently loving: Smartless Podcast If you are looking for a podcast to kill an hour and giggle, this is it. This podcast is hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett. Based on the ads on this show, I think they are really going for a male demographic, like Autozone and E.D. meds, but I just love it. One of them invites the guest…

The Friday Five, Issue 3
Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving. This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between! What I am currently loving: Kids Plates and Bowls from Ikea We do not have an Ikea locally, but when I saw these plates at my sister-in-law’s house, I knew I had to have them. Before getting these plates, we had a mismatch of all different kinds of kids plates. All with different shapes, sizes, compartments, some with suction cups on the bottom, etc. You name it, we…

The Friday Five, Issue 2
Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving. This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between! What I am currently loving: “Okay to Wake” Clock This was something I had always heard moms in some of the groups I’m in on Facebook talk about. It is a clock with a light around it and you can set the light on the clock to turn green when it is okay for the kids to get up. This is the exact one I have. I never…

The Friday Five, Issue 1
Welcome to the Friday Five! Every Friday, I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving. This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between! What I am currently loving: Foodility App I started using this app in January of 2020 to keep track of my water consumption. The past few years I have gotten sick in January, and I was determined to stay well this year. One of my goals to achieve that was to get between 80-100oz of water daily. This app was the perfect way to track it for me. …

Our Trip to Charleston
For the past three years, we have taken a trip in between Christmas and New Year’s. It’s the perfect time to travel because it is generally a slow week of work for Matt, the kids are out of school and by the day after Christmas I am ready to get out of the house to get away from the clutter of Christmas and relax. We don’t do big gifts for the kids for Christmas or exchange gifts between Matt and I, so we treat this trip as our Christmas to the family. As the girls get older and understand better, they probably won’t get anything from us for Christmas and…

Our Girls Trip to Cabo San Lucas
Every year my mother-in-law, sisters-in-law and I go on a mother-daughter trip. This is something that Matt’s mom and sister started when his sister was in college. My mother-in-law’s intention was always to include the women that her two sons married as well. Matt and I got married 6 weeks after his brother got married, so his wife and I joined the mother daughter trips at the same time, 7 years ago. It’s such an amazing time for all of us to connect as women, wives and now as mothers. For the first 6 trips one of us (or two of us) were pregnant or nursing. Their have been 5…

Mediterranean Pasta
Do you know your love language? I always say that my love language is words of affirmation and pasta. Pasta is my go to comfort food and I always crave it if I am stressed out or feeling down. My current favorite is coated in olive oil with an assortment of veggies and feta cheese. This was my go to lunch when I was pregnant with Ruby, I craved it almost everyday. This Mediterranean pasta dish is my go to comfort meal that is a total knock off from one of my favorite local restaurants, Bistro Byronz but with a healthier twist. I use a gluten free pasta, such as…
