    Our Trip To Vail

We had taken Lillian and Stella to Colorado after Christmas in 2018.  They were 2 and 18mos, respectively.  They had never seen snow and still talk about how they built a snow man with their daddy.  We knew once Ruby was old enough, we wanted to go back and let them try their hand at skiing.  Spoiler, only one of them actually skied. It was an amazing trip; the girls will talk about it all year and we cannot wait to go back. Why We Chose Vail We fly almost exclusively Southwest as a family.  We have a Southwest credit card and are able to get the companion pass between…

    Durango Trip Recap

Last year my sister-in-law suggested we do an adults only trip to celebrate her husbands’ 40th birthday.  Honestly, I didn’t think it would ever happen.  Between the 3 couples going there are 8 kids to account for, and did I mention we were bringing one set of grandparents of said children on this trip?  But, where there is a will, there is a way.  Shout out to the grandparents that stepped up to make this trip happen. All my brother-in-law wanted for his birthday was to get out of the Texas summer heat. I cannot disagree with that birthday wish.  So, after an extensive search, we settled on Durango, Colorado. …

    The Friday Five, Issue 12

Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving.  This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between!  What I am currently loving: Spicy Honey If you have been following me for any amount of time, you know how much I love spicy beverages.  From a margarita to coffee, if its spicy, especially a sweet spicy, I want it.  Most weekends, we try to hit up our local farmer’s market; the girls love it and I just love supporting all the local vendors and being out…

    Blue Ridge Trip Recap

When booking summer camps for the girls this year, I went a little crazy and basically booked the girls every week that was available.  I think the excitement of being able to send Ruby to a handful of camps got the best of me and wanted to just keep them busy and on a schedule for as much of the summer as possible.  Which meant the only week we had available for a vacation was the week of the 4th of July, since all the camps are closed for the holiday.  That also happens to be Ruby’s birthday.  Lillian and I love the beach and could go every other week,…

    The Friday Five, Issue 25

Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving.  This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between!  What I am currently loving: Pottery Barn Duffle Bags I ordered these bags several years ago and we just love them.  Lilly and Stella’s bags were ordered before I was pregnant with Ruby, so they are at least 3 years old, if not closer to 5 and they still look brand new.  They are very lightweight and are much roomer than they appear, I’ve packed for a full…

    The Friday Five, Issue 23

Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving.  This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between!  This week, I thought I would have my husband, Matt, provide the 5 things he is loving to help give you guys some Father’s Day gift inspiration.  Here’s What Matt is Currently Loving: Pocket Knife There was a time when just about every man carried a pocketknife.  It was as essential as your wallet, cell phone and keys.  It seems like these days there is only room for…

    The Friday Five, Issue 8

This week for the Friday 5, I am mixing it up.  We are closing in on the end of February and looking forward to all things spring.  For most of the south, we had brutal cold last week which definitely has me jonesing to get out into the sun and warmer temps.  So, I thought this would be the perfect time to talk about travel, specifically my 5 packing tips. My hope is to help you pack exactly what you need and to help with the dreaded stress of packing.  I traveled a ton for work before I became a mom and we continue to travel regularly as a family,…

    Our Trip to Charleston

For the past three years, we have taken a trip in between Christmas and New Year’s.  It’s the perfect time to travel because it is generally a slow week of work for Matt, the kids are out of school and by the day after Christmas I am ready to get out of the house to get away from the clutter of Christmas and relax.  We don’t do big gifts for the kids for Christmas or exchange gifts between Matt and I, so we treat this trip as our Christmas to the family.  As the girls get older and understand better, they probably won’t get anything from us for Christmas and…

Our Girls Trip to Cabo San Lucas

Every year my mother-in-law, sisters-in-law and I go on a mother-daughter trip.  This is something that Matt’s mom and sister started when his sister was in college.  My mother-in-law’s intention was always to include the women that her two sons married as well.  Matt and I got married 6 weeks after his brother got married, so his wife and I joined the mother daughter trips at the same time, 7 years ago.  It’s such an amazing time for all of us to connect as women, wives and now as mothers.  For the first 6 trips one of us (or two of us) were pregnant or nursing.  Their have been 5…
