    The Friday Five, Issue 16

Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving.  This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between!  What I am currently loving: Evolve Studios I am embarrassed that it took me 15 issues in this series to include Evolve, but I just assumed everyone knew how much I love it.  Evolve Studios is a fitness studio with locations in Baton Rouge and Mandeville owned by Tayler Landry and Rachel Crockett.  They offer a HIIT class called Burn and Evolve Pilates, which is done on the…

The Complete Summer Camp Guide For 2021

If you have been following me for any length of time, I think it is obvious that I am very Type A and live for a schedule.  So, while the freedom of summer sounds appealing in theory, it can be very overwhelming for me with nothing on the agenda.  I usually try to put together our summer schedule in early spring, so I am not hit with any surprises once school is out.  When I asked a few weeks ago about content, a reoccurring question was about summer camps and what to do with your kids this summer. So, I feel like you are really my people.  Summer boredom ain’t…

    The Friday Five, Issue 15

Welcome to the Friday 5! Every Friday I will highlight 5 things I am currently loving.  This can be anything from habits that are currently serving me, clothes, apps, people I am currently loving, podcasts, food, mom hacks and everything in between!  What I am currently loving: Alexa Pulitzer I had the pleasure of attending a dinner party at the home of Alexa Pulitzer and her husband several months ago.  Her husband and Matt had done some work together and to celebrate the end of that deal, they hosted a small dinner party at their home.  The food, company and hosts were all exquisite.  During cocktails I asked Alexa what…

    Spring Trend: Blazers With Jeans

One of the biggest trends for spring is blazers with jeans.  Specifically, blazers with shoulder pads that are slightly oversized. I generally pride myself on not being too trendy, however, I knew I could make this trend work for me. Because I worked in a professional setting for more than a decade, which required a blazer more often than not, I’ve had my fair share of pulling an outfit together that involved a blazer.  But a blazer, with jeans? I probably haven’t done this since college.  Anybody remember that?  With a broach?  We rocked some pins on our blazers in college.    So, I pulled out the one blazer I…

In no particular order: Hambone If you have not been to Hambone…

5 Hacks to Stop Hating Your Laundry

I hated laundry.  It was literally the bane of my existence.  I casually mentioned to Matt that I was thinking about sending out all our laundry.  I had seen a handful of ads on Facebook that would pick up your laundry, wash, dry and return it neatly folded in 24 hours.  He looked at me like I was insane.  What he actually said was, “don’t you think you hire out enough?”  Ouch.  But, he has a point.  I am a stay at home mom that has a part time nanny and a housekeeper that comes every other week.  It’s not as if I don’t have time to do the laundry. …

    The Friday Five, Issue 8

This week for the Friday 5, I am mixing it up.  We are closing in on the end of February and looking forward to all things spring.  For most of the south, we had brutal cold last week which definitely has me jonesing to get out into the sun and warmer temps.  So, I thought this would be the perfect time to talk about travel, specifically my 5 packing tips. My hope is to help you pack exactly what you need and to help with the dreaded stress of packing.  I traveled a ton for work before I became a mom and we continue to travel regularly as a family,…

Why Tonal Outfits Are One of My Favorites

One of my favorite ways to put an outfit together is dressing all in the same tone.  Tonal dressing has been my go to way to pull off an outfit since I saw this picture of Meghan Markle a few years ago. I was reminded how much I love it after seeing Michelle Obama at the inauguration last month.   I even tried recreating Markle’s look at Matt’s company Christmas party that year.  She is definitely a style icon for me with her effortless look and don’t even get me started on her go-to messy bun. I love this idea because it always looks timeless in my opinion.  It’s easy to…
